At Home with Joy

I Thessalonians 5:16-24; Psalm 30:4-5

16 Rejoice evermore. 17 Pray without ceasing. 18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. 19 Quench not the Spirit. 20 Despise not prophesyings. 21 Prove all things; hold fast that which is good. 22 Abstain from all appearance of evil. 23 And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. 24 Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it.
4 Sing unto the Lord, O ye saints of his, and give thanks at the remembrance of his holiness.at…: or, to the memorial 5 For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.

If home is where we meet God, isn’t home also where God is walking with us to what’s next?

“Life is what happens while you are busy making other plans.”

                                                                  John Lennon in Beautiful Boy

How would our world be different if we recognized and celebrated those moments along the way?

Joy comes when we are aware of God’s grace.

Nehemiah 8:10 - “Go and enjoy choice food and sweet drinks, and send some to those who have nothing prepared. This day is holy to our Lord. Do not grieve, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.”

Attitudes are contagious: What attitude are we spreading around?  What comes out of our homes?  Our home of Calvary?  Our Community?

Psalm 30:4-5

Sing the praises of the Lord, you his faithful people; praise his holy name…..weeping may stay for the night, but rejoicing comes in the morning.
